Modules
Week 1 — Question framing
Interview stakeholders and convert vague “velocity” asks into testable visual questions.
Week 2 — Event modeling
Shape pipeline, ticket, and incident events into a minimal warehouse-ready schema.
Week 3 — Flow Mapping
Build aging and wait-time views that expose queues without naming individuals.
Week 4 — Reliability surfaces
Design SLO and recovery visuals that resist vanity uptime charts.
Week 5 — Executive narrative
Compress boards into a 6-slide briefing with caveats leadership can trust.
Week 6 — Operating rhythm
Facilitate a live review and document decisions the board should force next quarter.
Instructor
Mira Aziz
Former platform analytics lead for a regional commerce group. Mira designs curriculum that privileges restraint: fewer charts, stronger definitions, and critiques that mimic real board pressure.
Learner notes
Flow Mapping finally made our product director stop asking for a single “green” velocity number. The studio’s insistence on annotated distributions was uncomfortable at first — and then indispensable.
Office hours helped, though the sample warehouse dataset assumes more warehouse familiarity than our squad had. We still shipped a usable incident aging board by week four.
FAQ
Which tools do we use?
Concepts transfer across common BI and observability stacks. Labs use a shared sample warehouse; you may recreate exercises in your preferred tool.
Is this a certification mill?
No. You leave with a reviewed dashboard and a facilitation script, not a badge factory.
What is a real limitation of this course?
We do not implement your production pipelines for you. If your event data is inaccessible or legally restricted, visual progress will stall until your platform team can provide a sanitized extract — and that unblock is outside the studio’s control.
Can we run this privately?
Yes. Control Atlas packages customize the metric catalog around your domains. Contact us for scheduling.
